YOU WILL NEVER BE A BURDEN TO ANYONE IN JESUS NAME

From Lockdown to Leaping up (Part 2)
Acts 3:1-8

A leap from our text is a sudden upward move. A leap can be caused by a push up. For example, if you sit on a hot heater by accident, the way you get up won’t be gradual. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, the widow moved fast.

A leap could also be a violent roll upward. For example, in Joshua 1:1-8, Joshua moved from a servant to a head of state within a day. That movement was sudden. I don’t know which way God will leap you up, but whichever method He chooses, my prayer is that before this day is out, you will leap up in Jesus name.

A leap upward could be a matter of now or never, a very good example can be found in Matthew 14:23-32: Peter cried for help, help came that lifted him up above the waves. I know there might be one or two people who are in very critical situations right now, before l finish preaching, your leaping up will come in Jesus name.

The Story in our text, the Bible says Peter took him by the right hand, and lifted him up. His leaping up was an upward leap, brought about by a lifting. The Bible says immediately, he received strength and stood.

  • Stood: Most of the time, a leaping up begins with standing: Psalm 40:1-3. First, you stand. When you stand, this usually means you won’t go back down. In Mark 2:1-12, the Lord said to the man stand, take up your bed and go home!

I am decreeing in the name of the One who called me, because of the leaping up that will happen in your life today, you will never be a burden to anyone in Jesus name.

In John 5:2-9, when the Lord came to the man at the pool of Bethesda who had been there for thirty-eight years, the moment He said stand up! Go home! That man was never again by the pool, he was moved to a higher level.

As the Lord lives, as many of you who are already children of God and those that will become children of God today, you are going to a higher level.

  • Walk: When the man stood according to the Text, the next thing he did was: He walked. When the Almighty God is pulling you up, you start by standing; the next thing is for you to begin to walk. Walking is making progress steadily. Walking is not violent like jogging and running, yet it produces tremendous results.

Genesis 26:12-14, the Bible said Isaac waxed great and was standing, went forward (taking steps) then he grew till he became very great. I am believing God for all of you, that by the next time I hear concerning you, you would have moved from where you are steadily forward in Jesus name.

Take David for an example of walking. In 1 Samuel 16:11-13 from looking after sheep, he was yanked upward to becoming a king. He moved forward and in 2 Samuel 2: 1-4 he became the King of Judah and in 2 Samuel 5:1-5, He became the King of the whole of Israel. Steadily, he moved, he stood, he walked.

If the Almighty God is involved in your leaping up, first you will stand, next you walk and then there will be other leaping.

  • Other Leaping: For example Solomon in 1 Kings 1:5-55, the crisis brought Solomon to the Thorne. Sudden upward move, Solomon stood and began to walk with God in 2 Chronicles 1:6-15, he became wealthy (The Almighty will lift you out of poverty), he gave God a thousand burnt offerings and the Almighty God looked at him and gave him another leaping, by the time God finished with him, the Bible says Solomon made gold and silver just as stones. He leaped further, by the time you get to 2 Chronicles 7:5 the next offering he gave was twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. This led him to having a second Divine Visitation in 2 Chronicles 7:11-18.

A leap up could be a push-up or a pull-up; it starts with standing, followed by walking, to other leaping and then praising God. It will culminate in a life of continuous praise.

  • Praising God: Imagine a beggar of forty years healed suddenly, within one day, everything changed. Imagine how he would praise God. Psalm 34:1-3 says His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 89:1, David says l will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever, with my mouth will l make known His faithfulness to all generations.

If the Almighty looks at you and He knows you are in a lockdown, eager to praise Him, He will break all rules to reach you and pull you up. (In Mark 1:40-45, a leper came to the Temple, and worship the Lord, and the Lord broke the law to touch and heal him). For someone listening to me, nobody will beg you to witness from now on, nobody will help you to praise God from now on.

David said in Psalm 30:11-12 that God can turn your mourning to dancing (Lockdown to Leaping up) that provided that at the end of it, you will praise Him. By the unction of the One who called me, even if you are at the gate of death, today l decree that you leap up in Jesus name.

The choice is yours, will you accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. The elders say ‘It is the child who lifts his hands that can be carried’. The Almighty God is willing to pick you up if you will lift up your hands and surrender to him. If you are making that decision, please bow your head and lift your hands to the Almighty God and say, Lord, l am here, pick me up, l promise to praise You. The rest of us please intercede for them that from this moment onward, they will move from Lockdown to Leaping up in Jesus name.
