Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, the senior pastor of David Christian Center sent an important message to singles in the church about the importance of timing.
She advised ladies to not just think about a guy’s proposal but to inquire when he is ready to marry her. He said that when he proposed to his wife, he proposed with a date but he is concerned why young people today do not propose with a date. According to him, when he was in Abuja, he saw some couples doing a pre-wedding photoshoot on a bridge. “We have now focused on the minor and left the important things,” he said.
Speaking further, he said that in their own time there is nothing like a pre-wedding photoshoot because there is no time. But now men will carry thirty people to go and propose to a lady on a bridge. He advised them to use that energy to prepare the wedding and marriage. “You are making permanent what is supposed to be temporary,” he said.
According to him, no one enters a university without knowing how many years he will be using. Therefore you shouldn’t enter into a relationship and suspend your mind. Many people have tied others for a long time. He said that in the olden days, you hardly see a 30-year-old lady not married because they have removed everything that cause delay but now, the reverse is the case. We are wasting time on irrelevant things.
Finally, he said that as a woman, time is sensitive for you. The timing of a woman is not the same as a man. He said that a man can marry at 52 but a woman can’t. By the time a man turns 40, the option of who to marry is increasing but when a woman turns 40, the option of who to marry is reducing. “So ladies, don’t let any joker waste your time,” he said.
