It was a night of expository as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye preached on the ongoing annual youth convention of the Church.
The annual youth convention which was tagged; “Exceeding Expectations” kicked of some days ago at the Redemption Camp, the Church headquarters with different notable ministers expected to speak to the participants at the camp. Some of the ministers who was billed to preach at the event included the founder of Kingsway International Christian Center, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, founder and Senior Pastor of the Eternity Network International, Apostle Johnson Selman, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye and other ministers.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God Youth Convention is an annual programme of the Church. The youth are empowered both spiritually and physically through the programme.
According to Tribune Newspaper, over 100,000 youths participated in the ongoing annual event.
During the programme on Thursday night, I observed two things which I want to share in this post.
PastorE. A. Adeboye told the youths that they cannot exceed their expectations if they fail to follow footsteps of right people.
According to him, “You cannot exceed your expectations if you are not following the right steps.”
1. The advises given to the participants from Pastor E. A. Adeboye:
The General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye preached the youths on Thursday night. He message was with power and authority as he bare his mind to the youths concerning their future.
He also advise them to “learn to ask God hard things and stop asking Him simple things.”
The General Overseer explained that they are not interested in the crows rather, the Church is interested in people who will be terror to the devils.
I observed that the 79 year old respected man of God stood for long time to deliver his message.
He proved that he do what he preach.
2. Youths were excited to listen to Pastor Adeboye throughout his message:
Youths who participated in the event on Thursday night were excited to have their General Overseer speak to them. Some of the participants were calm when Pastor Adeboye was preaching, while others could be heard shouting in excitement whenever the man of God made some statement during his preaching.
After his message, Pastor Adeboye instructed his congregation to pray for themselves. Some of them could be seen laying on the floor to pray for themselves.
