Pastors are regarded as some of society’s most revered and exemplary individuals in today’s world. For many people, they serve as a moral compass. People who we expect to be morally innocent, clean, and without blemish as a culture.
On the other hand, secular musicians are regarded to be on the opposite extreme of the spectrum. We don’t expect secular musicians to be sinless, sinless, and sinless. In their music videos, we anticipate to see women twerking up and down. We want them to drink champagne and live opulent lives without regard for humility or purity.

4. Lil Kesh
Lil Kesh (Keshinro Ololade) is a Nigerian musician who is known for songs such as Shoki, Is It Because I Love You, Efejoku, and others. The musician disclosed that his father is a pastor in an interview with Blueprint Nigeria, as well as his father’s reaction to his music. The following is the transcript of the conversation:
Interviewer – What was your dad’s reaction to your decision to become an artiste?
Lil Kesh – My dad was cool with it. He lets you do whatever you want to do. He feels that whatever his life story is doesn’t have to affect the way his children live their lives. According to what he used to tell me, everybody must live his or her individual stories. He watched me grow from being part of the choir, learning to play drums, and attending music shows. Till now, he gives me all the necessary support and respects my decisions.
Interviewer – Considering that your dad is a pastor, isn’t he bothered by your vulgar lyrics?
Lil Kesh – Those vulgar songs are basically about me doing my job and he doesn’t interfere. Besides, not all my songs are vulgar. I have recorded songs like Ishe, Semilore and others. However, the ones that go viral are the ones with vulgar lyrics. I understand my markets, and I know the demography I’m directing my music to, which is the youth and adults. I’m a blunt entertainer, but I consider my fans, and always try to give them what they want. But this year, I decided that I’ll feed my fans with more meaningful songs that will inspire them.
3. Johnny Drille
Another musician whose parents are both pastors is singer Johnny Drille. The musician opened up about how that truth worried him when he decided to pursue music. He stated, ”
Both my parents are pastors and at the onset it was hard for them to accept that I wanted to make love songs and not very religious ones as was expected. I personally found it a difficult decision to make as I was very concerned about what people would think of me as a pastor’s kid.
2. Terry G
Terry G, a Nigerian musician who goes by the name Gabriel Oche Amanyi, is a self-proclaimed akpako master who is known for songs like Free Madness, Run Mad, Akpako, Troway, and Jump Am Pass. Terry G has revealed that he is the son of a pastor, which may surprise you given his “craziness.” Not only that, but Terry G’s mother is a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s choir.
I had many arguments with my parents every time they heard me making music in my room and I could totally understand why (imagine my dad preparing Tuesday’s sermon and I’m there screaming at the top of my voice, ‘oh my beautiful love…’ Overtime my parents understood me better and what I was about and began to support me more and more. My dad had contributed most of what he had when I initially wanted to shoot ‘Wait For Me’. I think they are perhaps my biggest fans right now and are very proud of me. I know they still pray for me every time not to lose sight of the original call of God

Last but not least, we have singer Zlatan Ibile, who is known for songs like Ale Yi, Alubarika, Cash App, Lagos Anthem, and others. Minister Omoniyi, the singer’s father, serves has a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
