Father’s Day was never a good day for me. Because my dad had sexually abused me for years, I spent a lot of time being angry and bitter. But with God’s loving help, I gradually came to the realization that I needed to make a choice to forgive him, even though it seemed impossible. We never had a close relationship, but I was able to forgive my dad. Before his death, I was blessed to lead him to accept Jesus as his Savior and had the privilege of baptizing him. Even though Satan stole what should have been a normal, loving relationship between a father and his daughter, God brought restoration and healing.

And he can do that for you too! I know Father’s Day can be a difficult day for many of you and I understand how you feel. But I also have seen God move in big ways in my life and in the life of my father. So keep praying and know that I am praying with you.”
