Pastor Mildred Okonkwo, spoke to her members about why they need to trust God. She told her life story of how the devil tried to attack her destiny from a very young age. But with God, she overcame.
She revealed that her parents have six children and she was not the first and not the last. She was in a position where she was least noticed. She was a fat child and she had aunties who consistently called her ‘Isioma Agric,’ and though she did not initially understand the meaning, she was later told that it means Agric Fowl. Agric fowl are always very big and her size made them call her that name. She was also very shy and it affected her confidence in school. She was intelligent but would never offer the answers to a question even if she knows it.
Speaking further, she said that she wrote a written test one day and because of her good performance, her teacher told her to come out and read her own in front of the class. Though shy, she came out and read out her script. After reading, her teacher commended her but was concerned about her shyness. Then a boy spoke loud that it is because she is a girl. It was then she realized that being a girl meant that there was something wrong with her. However, she revealed that she was very loved as a child so it had nothing to do with her parents but Satan. She said that Satan knew that she would need that confidence to preach the gospel in the future so he decided to attack it very early.
“No matter what you think you have been through; no matter what you have, God will use you if you want him,” she said. That is why she loves saying that nothing is off-limit to God because everything she has been handed to Him and He has made it extraordinary. She then told them God has a plan for their lives but he does not just do ordinary things. So as unusual as their life may be, God will still use it if they place it in His hands. “The things that God will use to give you platform will blow your mind,” she said.
