Reverend Fr. Oluoma Chinenye John, a Catholic Priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja in a video an hour ago on his verified Facebook handle, said heaven is for the poor and not for the rich. He also gave some Bible verses to support his statement.
According to Rev. Fr. Oluoma from the video: “How many of us here want to go to Heaven? Now this formula about those who will go to Heaven will shock you. If you want to make Heaven, Jesus Christ said blessed are you who are poor for yours is the Kingdom of God. So Heavens belongs to the poor and not to the rich. I am not the one who said it, the Holy Bible did in the New Testament.
“Now the next question is, how many of you here want to be poor? No body wants to be poor but they want to make Heaven. Mathematically, two times two is four, but if you try to arrive at four through another method, you may end up confusing yourself. The formula for Heaven is clear and simple but many people are shying away from it.
“I am very sure that if Jesus Christ were alive today, nobody will come to His church. The messages He preached were not sweet sermons that many people preach today”.
If Heaven belongs to the poor, what happens to the rich? “In the Book of Mathew 19:23-24, Jesus said that it will be very hard for rich people to make Heaven. He even went further to say that it will be much harder for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God.
“In the Book of Mark 10:24, Jesus said again that it is much harder for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God than for a Camel to go through the eyes of a needle. You can also check the Book of James 5:1-5.
“Now let me ask again, do you want to be poor?, he asked as he concluded.
