Every child is a gift from God to the parents. As a son or a daughter, you are an inheritance to your parents. Psalms 127:3-4 says God rewards parents with children, and as arrows are in the hands of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. As a blessing from God, you should be a source of happiness to your parents and not the other way round. This is why Pastor Faith Oyedepo said you should not neglect your parents even if they are difficult to please. Keep taking care of them to the best of your ability, do it as a duty to God and you will receive your reward of obedience.
Some children have turned their backs on their aged parents because of one reason or the other. This is supposed not to be so, there is no reason whatever that can justify such actions because the Bible in Ephesians 6:2-3 says we should honour our fathers and our mothers that it may be well with us and that we may live long on the earth. There is no condition attached to this commandment of God, therefore you have no option but to obey. In return, the faithful God will prosper you and give you long life.
