How a man left our church because he broke our rules against having more than one wife – Dr. Olukoya
General Overseer Dr. Daniel Olukoya gave a sermon titled “Inside the Prison of False Prophets” to his congregation on Sunday. He cited Matthew 24:11 from the Bible, “And many pretend prophets will emerge, leading many astray. “And as evil increases, many people will become unfeeling.”
He described a common trait of modern false prophets as “telling people what they want to hear.” These individuals care more about being popular than they do about telling the truth. He went on to tell them about a guy who had been disillusioned with the General Overseer’s sermons and had decided to leave the church.
The man of God claims that this guy said that he was sick of hearing his sermons because he believed the man of God was constantly trying to convict him by the language he used. The Man of God’s stance against polygamy was the last straw, and he eventually quit the religion. He quit the religion because the Man of God forbade him to engage in polygamy, which he desired.
Continuing, he said that no one in his current faith teaches against polygamy. Although it is forbidden in the Bible, man is free to follow his own beliefs. A false pastor is one who gives his flock the answers they desire to hear rather than the gospel’s uncompromising truth.
