WHEN YOU ARE IN FULL-TIME MINISTRY, FOR YOU NOT TO LOOK JOBLESS:
YOU MUST FOLLOW THE DAILY SCHEDULES OF THE MINISTRY YOU ARE WORKING WITH:
1. Have a file of your daily assignments and targets.
2. Arrange your targets in the order you want to achieve them. Within the time available each day.
3. See your boss as a man, who must get angry with you when your schedules are not followed. He is not a bad man. He may be friendly with you, But never get carried away. A boss is a boss, even when he becomes your friend. How you see him, will determine how you function.
Perception is vital.
4. Every person who comes to see you must know you don’t have time to waste. Let them feel a sense of urgency around you.
5. Dress your part. Never appear casually.
6. Never make your office the center of gossip. Let people value the privilege of stepping there.
7. If your church doesn’t play with salary payment, ensure you don’t also play with your job specifications. Justify what you are being paid.
Because the easiest thing to suffer working in a church environment is a scattered
Salary payment arrangement. Because the leader feels, there is no contractual agreement binding the both of you.
So he looks at your attitude to work to determine your payment.
8. If you are the head of the station, find out the best location that gives you the result the most. At home or in the office.
There are days, I get more results at home.
But if you are not the head, by all means, get to the office and deliver accordingly.
It is my observation over the years, that he who fails working in a church office, can never succeed working anywhere.
Because the secular is a different world altogether.
In the church, you are shown mercy for your mistakes while in the world, you are shown the exit door or you pay for your mistakes.
Be blessed.
