Bishop David Oyedepo Explains The Depth of The Popular Bible Verse, ‘Jacob Have I Loved, Esau Have I Hated’.

In his sermon at the special Feet Washing Service All night Friday Vigil service, Bishop David Oyedepo, the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, provided an interpretation of the potentially controversial Romans 9:13 Bible verse.

According to him, “As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”

The religious leader clarified that this verse represents the enigma of God’s predestined plan.

“Before they had done any evil or good, God made his choice. Aren’t you glad you are God’s choice for salvation? Aren’t you glad you are not in the house of the occult? Aren’t you glad you are not crouching under a native doctor tonight? Aren’t you glad you are not carrying a calabash on your head and walking naked?” he asked.

He further elucidated the mystery of God’s predestination, noting that God predetermined and summoned His people to embrace salvation, subsequently justifying and glorifying them.

“It’s a mystery, but thank God we are on the positive side of that mystery,” he concluded.
