If all Bishop Oyedepo has is SPIRIT EDUCATION
1. How would he managed to form a perfect blend of discipline, visionary leadership and entrepreneurship?
2. How would he made great impact in many spheres of life, especially in the education sector in Nigeria? His academic institutions have steadily become a force to reckon with in the education sector.
3. If he had neglect knowledge and research, and only boast around to possess only Spirit Education. How would that alone translated to establishment of a number of vibrant educational institutions, which rivals the best of the best not only in Nigeria but also in Africa? He is a believer in versatility and does not believe in mediocrity under the guise of spiritualism.
Apostle Joshua Selman once said he never missed Harvard Business School review for years. Yet he’s a minister not a businessman. And you who do not have anything to do with pulpit, have not even read one business book. Who are you deceiving but yourself?
Bishop Oyedepo and Apostle Joshua Selman are product of spirit and mind education. Also, this true with men like Pastor Sam Adeyemi and Apostle Arome Osayi.
Do you think Apostle Arome only speak in tongue in the Oil Sector? And he has no intrinsic knowledge on how the system functions? Or you think he downloaded it from heaven too? Be wise, stop allowing zealous minister especially the very young ones, who their supposed wisdom have not turn into any tangibility or productive in any sense deceive you. That’s why the Scripture incites us to IMITATE those who through faith and patience inherit what God promised them.
I learn from everybody but I don’t follow/imitate everybody. There is a place for SPIRIT EDUCATION, and there is also place for MIND DEVELOPMENT. These two are not the same and yet you can’t neglect one and chose the other, especially in our day. There is a SPECIFIC AND DEFINITE BODY OF KNOWLEDGE archived by the Spirit for the purpose of Spirit Education (Renewing our minds), and there is also a SPECIFIC AND DEFINITE BODY OF INFORMATION necessary to develop our minds. If you only major in one. It’s obvious you don’t know the MANDATE OF GOD for our dispensation.
Moses’ dispensation demanded only MIRACLES, SIGNS AND WONDERS, but Joshua’s dispensation required a NEW CIVILIZATION to be birthed, and that cannot happen by relying on miracles, signs and wonders. Even though they’ll be needed, but they’re not the major requirement to BUILD NATIONS.
That’s why the Scripture says, David SERVED GOD’S PURPOSE IN HIS OWN GENERATION. God has a DEFINITE PURPOSE FOR EACH GENERATION.
Now, it’s our responsibility not only to know what God is demanding from this generation, but also to find our different and unique roles in that which God is doing by the help of the Spirit, and then commit ourselves to GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, both spiritual and secular. In the market place, EXCELLENCE is the minimum standard not MEDIOCRITY under the guise of spirituality. May God gives you understanding.
I’m a product of Spirit Education too, but I reads books, I participates in online classes with Award Winning Writers & Filmmakers in Nigeria and Abroad. Last month, I participated in an online class on Zoom, learning under Hollywood screenplay writers like Wendy Calhoun (writer of Empire series), Amy Retzinger and Marc Manus. I was the only budding filmmaker from Nigeria who participated in the online webinar class. The knowledge this guys has I don’t have it and the Holy Spirit won’t teach me. Because what has been discovered is no longer a mystery. So, I need to learn under men who has uncovered it.
Lastly, the goal of Spirit Education sponsored by Holy Spirit, is not to boast or portray our rotten sense of superiority among others. In the heart of God, Spirit Education supposed to give us AN ADVANTAGE in life. It is a system designed by God to distinguished men who are not only KNOWN BY GOD but also KNOW GOD for themselves. Daniel advantage in Babylon is his Spirit Education. That’s what distinguished him, yet necessity was placed on him to LEARN THE LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE of the Babylonians.
We MUST by necessity buy books and attend classes to learn the LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE of the Babylonians, if we must take God from the four walls of the Church building into the market place. 6years ago, I listened to Bishop Oyedepo speech at the graduation ceremony of Covenant University. He said when he was in school, while his mates were wasting their time, he was DECORATING his future with BOOKS. That struck a chord in my spirit.
It is childishness of the highest order to be boasting that you’re a product of the Spirit and not books. When I was a child I think like a child, I talk like a child, I reason like child, but now that I’m a man with responsibility both spiritual and physical, I let go of childish attitudes and acts.
When I pray, meditate and study for hours upon hours initiated by the Holy Spirit, it’s because I received His HELP by responding to His drawing. He woos me and If by any chance I responded accurately, it is because he ENABLED me by Grace. My sufficiency in not in myself or any spiritual activities or encounters, but in Him who has been HELPING ME. That is Grace and it’s available to all.
