Founders who spent 30 years or less in their ministries yet have an everlasting legacies

Impact in ministry is measured using different parameters, while some may be very notable and immediately visible others may be salient and eventual in their manifestation. One of the visible signs that a minister of God is impactful is in the area of the healing and working of miracles.

However, just because a minister of God is currently making an impact does not mean that impact will culminate into a trans-generational one. Therefore, there are other criteria to consider, to fully ascertain that a minister of God’s ministry was impactful in his life and eventually, after his death.

In the Nigerian church today, there are two popular figures in ministry, whose ministries are still being spoken about by the older and younger ministers of this generation, even though the latter of the two died 23 years ago.

Therefore, for this purpose was this article written, to reveal who these two (2) men of God are, whose ministries still have a lasting legacy even though they are long gone.

1. Joseph Ayo Babalola

There are still debates as to whether Joseph Ayo Babalola is the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), as it was recorded in historical archives that he was a joint founder with two other ministers of God – J.B. Akinyele and D.O. Odubanjo.

However, according to sources, Babalola’s ministerial prowess in the areas of healing and workings of miracles gave rise to him being referred to as the first General Evangelist of the ministry.

After Babalola died in 1959 – although he had been active in CAC since 1940 – which is way below 30 years, not only did the church mourn him, they also commemorated him by building a University and named it after him – Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU).

Today, other preachers of the 21st century still refer to Babalola’s work and ministerial impact, almost 7 decades since he departed the earth.

2. Benson Idahosa

Sources revealed that Idahosa was known to be a man of authority, whose ministry was not only characterized with miracles, but authentic leadership, and this is revealed in the fact that the majority of the popular founders of ministry today, served him at some point as his spiritual sons.
