Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God spoke to his members about how Adultery and fornication hinders prayers.
He revealed that a woman came somewhere from Osun State, Nigeria to their programme when they were still in the first auditorium. Somebody told her to come and that the General Overseer will lay hands on her and that she will become fruitful. She came. In those days they are much smaller; so, he could lay hands on everybody. He laid hands on her; she fell under the anointing, she was on the ground for almost one hour.
She then came back the following year she was very angry. She said “They told me if I come, you will lay hands on me that I might even fall. You laid hands on me and I even fell, and I am still here no child.” The man of God was going to apologize when God said, ask her a question – the question God asked him to ask her was a difficult one because this was quite an important woman.
Almost trembling he said, please forgive me ma, but God said I should ask you, ‘apart from your husband, how many other boyfriends do you have?’ She said six. He exclaimed and said “And you want a child from my God. How are we even going to know the father?”
In Isaiah 59:2, the Bible says “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that he will not hear.” Therefore, if we want access to our Heavenly Father’s throne of grace, may we ever strive to conform our heart, mind, soul, and body to serve him. May our prayers and lives reflect the spirit of Christ and the will of our God.
