I Grew Up Preaching The Gospel From House To House, And This Is What I Was Told About Preachers Who Go Into Politics – Festus Keyamo

Minister of State, Labour and Employment and spokesperson for the 2023 presidential campaign organization of the All Progressives Congress, Festus Keyamo, has said that he is a Christian, grew up preaching the gospel from house to house, and was told that preachers should not involve themselves in politics.

He said this during a recent interview with The Punch where he answered questions surrounding the 2023 general elections and the Muslim-Muslim ticket which the APC is flying in the presidential election.

He warned pastors against throwing their weight behind some candidates. He said that their mandate is to win souls for God, but if they try to make the mistake of deviating from that mandate, God will take that mandate from them. And that they should learn their lessons from what happened in 2015 when some pastors pitched their tent with a candidate and lost, and they did the same thing again in 2019, and now they are trying to do so again.

I am a Christian, I grew up preaching from house to house, and we were told they do not dabble in politics… God is allowing this to happen now because after 2023, they would realize the mistakes they have made…”
