Interesting Revelation Of How the Redeem Christian Church of God was founded, And Who The Real Founder Was

Most of us might have seen the Redeemed Christian Church of God in our residential area or in places we’ve been to but, won’t know the history of how it was formed by an illiterate man that was called by God.

In 1909, the founder of the now Redeemed Christian Church of God was born into a family in Ondo State and while he was growing up and started his Christian journey, he attended the Church Missionary Society, where he was baptized but later, he left the church and joined a Cherubim and Seraphim church in 1931 and while he was there, he do hear God’s voice, telling him that he would be his servant but, doesn’t listen to God because his ambition doesn’t go with the voice he was hearing, so, he ignored the voice for seven years and was involved in various businesses but, all ended up in failure and debt.

When he ended in debt and did not have peace of mind, he asked God to show him signs that, He wants to call him into ministry and when God showed him, this served as assurance to him and he started pursuing God the more until he became totally broken.

However, Pa Josiah Akindayomi got married in 1941 and in 1947, he left his former church and went to Lagos to set up his own ministry at Willoughby Street, Ebute Metta, which he name Glory of God Fellowship with nine members and overtime, the ministry started growing because of the signs and wonders people were seeing.

However, one day, Pa Josiah Akindayomi had a vision and saw the name God wanted him to name his fellowship and after he received the vision and saw the name on a blackboard, he wrote the “Redeemed Christian Church of God ” down in a paper correctly without making any mistake, despite the the fact that he could not read or write then.
