Things are tough in Nigeria and the world. Even the blind can see it. In fact, thinking about all the troubles Nigeria faces can make someone depressed. As Christians though, our attitude in this tough situation must be different from everyone else. We are called by God to be set apart, and that is what helps us to be different.
Joshua Mike-Bamiloye has revealed what Christians should do in the tough situations we face here. He said we should take a minute to give thanks to God. He said that thanksgiving is most powerful when it is done as your faith is being tested, and not when you are in seasons of comfort.
God has shown how he honors people who give thanks in the Bible. Do you remember the story of how Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread and pieces of fish? He gave thanks to God even when it seemed insignificant compared to the need they had to meet, and when he did, God responded by multiplying the food until there were 12 baskets left over after everyone had eaten to their satisfaction.
Don’t forget that it is commanded in scripture that we give thanks in everything as it is the will of God for us. God is not telling us to start thanking him when bad things happen to us, but he wants us to maintain a thankful attitude even when we face tough times.
It is natural for people to complain with what we face regularly here; but when you give thanks, God will honour your obedience, and people will see the difference it will make in your life. Be blessed.
