Man who acted Jesus Christ in “The Passion of Christ” was struck by lightening

“The passion of Christ” is inarguably the best movie on the documentary of the life and death of Jesus. It was a masterpiece. The role of Jesus was played by James Caviezel. He took a lot of risk in acting his role, it wasn’t an easy task. He had to endure the strokes during the scene in which they whipped him (yes, they were real lashes). The actor said that during his testimony at ‘the rock church’ San Diego that when he was given the first lash, his skin tore off. In his own words, “The whip went over and I had a 14 inch gash on my back, I went right down like a football game when you get the wind knocked out of you. I saw God”.

In another scene, the one in which he carried the cross on his way to Golgotha, he claimed he felt a dark presence come over him, telling him he’s a dead man. He said he wasn’t perturbed at that moment because he felt if he died there, he would go to heaven.

He stressed that it was God’s Providence that allowed him to endure and suffer those injuries so as to portray Christ’s passion in a deep and real way. The shocking part of his testimony was how he was struck by lightning while he was hung on the cross.

What do u think the lighting signified? A sign of approval and acknowledgement from God? A sign of rejection from God? Or was it an attack from the devil? Give your thoughts on this.
