Mourning as a Catholic Priest and 2 Pupils got drowned in Bayelsa State
Amidst the ongoing #EndSARS Nationwide Movement, a 38 year old, Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Francis Ighorurhie and two other school pupils have been reported dead in Kaiama, Bayelsa State.
This information was disclosed by verified Instablog9ja Instagram account. According to the information, the Reverend Father and the two pupils were reported dead through drowning on Thursday.
Reverend Father Francis slipped from the wooded Bridge walk in a popular bridge called “Monkey Bridge”. Upon slipping, he fell on the water and faced his untimely death through drowning.
The two school pupils while returning from school along the Good News Area of Azikoro also got drowned.
It is worthy of note that, a serious flood has circulated most parts of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State due to ceaseless rainfall couple with the fact that the region is naturally a riverine area.
As a result of the flood, most schools have been closed down as the roads that lead to the schools have been covered by flood.
