Pastor E.A. Adeboye spoke at the 1st Archbishop Benson Idahosa Memorial Lecture, Benson Idahosa University. He revealed that he is a very young man, he will only be 80 early next year. In this brief period of his life, he said that he has seen a lot of changes. There was a time when they were in primary school and their teachers asked them these questions “who is the Minister of Finance? Who is the Minister of Education? Who is the Minister of Agriculture?”. But today if you ask who is the Minister of something, the child will ask you “which year?” because we are now living in a time when things are changing so fast that you can’t really remember who is who. “I want to submit to you that it doesn’t matter the age, it doesn’t matter the time, Nobody can forget Archbishop Benson Idahosa,” he said.
“Therefore, you are welcome to history being made, the First Memorial Lecture of a man that cannot be forgotten,” he continued. There will be many more of such lectures. My prayer is this, as we are remembering someone who left his own footprints on the sands of time, may you also grow up to become someone who can never be forgotten.
