Mount Zion Films Ministry is one of the major gospel drama ministries we have in Nigeria. It happens to be the first indigenous drama group in the country formed to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to Nigerians using an entertaining medium.
In the 1990s, the name ‘Ayamatanga’ was popular such that it was one of the scary expressions during that time that instill the fear of God into the children of God. The ‘Ayamatanga’ character featured in the first breakthrough movie of the Mount Zion Films Ministry titled ‘Agbara Nla(The Ultimate Power)’ which was first released in Yoruba version in 1993 and later subtitled in English in 1994.
The Christian movie, The Ultimate Power is about a village called ‘Abule Muwonleru’ which was controlled by forces of darkness with the Chief Priest called ‘Isawuru’ (Mike Bamiloye). A couple visited the village and preached the gospel which led to the soul-winning of Isawuru to the Lord. He later became an advocate of Jesus Christ abandoning the witches, ‘Aro Meta’.
The ‘Ayamatanga’ character is possessed by the demons and the new man in Christ, Isawuru went to tackle the unseen forces which are easily angered and roaring the expression, ‘Ayamatanga’. It was such a scary scene to watch then especially for kids.

The woman who played the ‘Ayamatanga’ role is known as Mrs. Grace Femi-Akintunde in real life. She is a gospel dramatist. Having a passion to propagate the gospel through drama ministry, Mike Bamiloye, Gloria Bamiloye (Nee Obembe) and Grace Femi-Akintunde (Nee Adeyemi) started the ministry in 1985 at the College of Education, Ilesha, Osun state.
These great advocates of the Lord produced several gospel movies before they came into limelight with the film titled ‘The Ultimate Power’. Grace Femi-Akintunde really acted the ‘Ayamatanga’ role very well portraying the collaboration of forces of darkness controlling an individual.
Grace Femi- Akintunde is happily married to Evang. Isaac Femi-Akintunde who is also a gospel actor under the Mount Zion Films Ministry and has featured in several Christian movies. This godly family is blessed with wonderful children. They are identified as Seye Femi-Akintunde and Anjola Femi-Akintunde.
Anjola Femi-Akintunde is following her parents’ footsteps as she has been seen severally releasing gospel comedy skits. She has passion for acting.
