Lagos – As part of the activities numbered in the gradual re-opening of the Nigerian economy following the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, houses of worship, across Lagos have begun to open to amidst stringent rules designed to keep worshippers safe and healthy. While the T.B Joshua-led Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) is yet to open its doors to worshippers, INDEPENDENT gathered that work is going on in earnest to give the sanctuary a face-lift while giving congregants something new to return to.
The General Overseer of the SCOAN, Prophet TB Joshua had said that he needed to hear from God before reopening SCOAN services, but amidst that, the church is undergoing some major renovations that would improve worship services and also the scenery of the edifice.
The new Synagogue altar has the culture of a mountain, portraying the place of worship as a place of concentration and communion. This, alongside some architectural changes, which derived its inspiration from the old orthodox churches is what has given the church a new face.
T.B Joshua, speaking earlier via SCOAN’s Emmanuel TV, had applauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s decision to reopen places of worship.
He, however, told his members that as soon as God speaks, he would let them know when physical services will resume.
“Don’t forget there was a revelation three times concerning the church closing, that same God we are waiting to hear from on when to reopen – when things will go back to normal – as usual. God’s time is the best. We are waiting at His feet for that time. We are tarrying for the Holy Spirit’s instruction.
“Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Meet us as usual on Emmanuel TV until we hear from God when to reopen, the same God who gave us the prophecy three times about the church closing. It is God’s work, not our work. Here, our thanks go to the authorities for understanding. Jesus is Lord!” Joshua said in a statement posted on his church’s handle.
Sunday Independent also gathered that asides the church’s new look, fresh innovations are ongoing to create a better environment for those seeking communion with God to connect with their maker in a serene, peaceful and natural environment.
