In April 2012, we were preparing for the first edition of what we called the leadership training school (now a conference)- a lot has to be done.
But then, one of my dear cousins was getting married. We had a great bond. There was a conflict. I needed to decide to attend fully or ensure all things regarding the training school was sorted.
It was only that weekend we had and just two other hands to help out.
I had to choose- explaining to my cousin that I can only be a part of the traditional wedding on Friday.
Thank God she understood.
Friends, there is a price of commitment to vision. There is a price for greatness.
Commitment is a laser like focus. The sun in itself is powerful but when its heat is concentrated with a magnifying glass, the effect is fire on any object.
Jesus wants us to be focused. Imagine Jesus telling the one who wanted to bury his father that “let the dead bury their dead”- today, we would have said he is insensitive.
Jesus simply was teaching us the power of priority and focus.
In anything we do, we cannot go far without focus and commitment.
The headlamps of the car may be two but it sees just one direction. Your eyes may be two but it sees just one direction. If one should look up and the other down, then there is trouble!
What is your focus?
What price will you pay for it?
