USED CONDOMS AND OUR NEW HOME
Couple of years ago, I rented an apartment. After the old occupants moved out, myself and some others had to do some clearing out of the apartment.
We made a lot of discoveries that tell a lot about the lifestyle of the former occupants. The unwelcoming sight of used condoms stuffed in a bottle hidden in a corner on the wardrobe was something else. We cleared it out among other things.
Beloved, those things hidden out of sight says a lot about who you are. Those patterns that no one sees is your testimonial. The true definition of a man is who he is when no one is looking.
And this is the good news – when you gave your life to Christ also, you came under a new management and there will be clean out exercises. Those corners where you have hidden things must be exposed to the clearing moves of God.
The Word is a cleansing agent. It washes you clean. The Spirit is the launderer’s soap that washes away stains and also the refiner’s fire that removes the dross.
Every thing that does not look like your destiny under God is also removed with your cooperation. If you keep hiding it, there is nothing anyone can do about it.
God will use your Fellowship with others in a Local Assembly to also help you deal with such patterns.
One of our most committed church members today said she chose to stay in church because even after church members see her drinking in beer parlours, they still greet her lovingly. She kept coming until all drinking patterns left and she is now always drunk in the Holy Ghost under a new management leading others to Christ. Glory to God.
The church will help to hold you accountable, encourage you through the process of growing, discipline you when needed but all is done with a heart that loves you.
See how James put it: Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

What are those faults, slips, false steps, offenses or even sin? Can we pray about it together with a loving heart that wil not give up till restoration comes to your heart?
With God, it can become new and clean because you are now under a new management! The mess is cleared out. The best is here now.
