Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries spoke to his members about how God has been gracious to them throughout 2021 during their last Sunday service of the year.
While talking about reasons why we should be grateful, he said that we should be grateful for the blessings of God in our lives. He said that if God has blessed us then we should give him gratitude, our prosperity is not connected to what we do, it is connected to the blessing of the Lord. He said that the blessing of the Lord maketh riches, not one’s place of work, it is the blessing of God that makes one rich. According to him, the Church is blessed and prosperous not because of the money members bring but because of the blessing of God and they are one of the wealthiest churches on earth because of the blessing of God, so they are thanking him.
He further explained that the more thankful they are, the more of God’s blessing you enjoy. He urged them to give to God what is due him so that he can give to them what is due for them. He said that to enjoy the blessing of God they must be very thankful and avoid murmuring. God dislikes murmuring and it is quite unfortunate that most Christians now spend more time murmuring instead of praying. We go to church and sing songs of praise but as soon as we get home, we begin to murmur.
Speaking further, he said that some people complain over everything. Just like the children of Israel, the complain and seem not to be satisfied with all what God has install for them. Since they are not able to thank God, the miss out on his blessings and goodness. He then revealed that ingratitude is dangerous because it robs you of your blessings.
