One of his mistakes was to accept his brother’s wife as his when the latter died. This did not augur well with his calling as he did not have time for her. His immense anointing and the mandate he has for the body of Christ was greater than he could lightly handle. Since he was rarely present at home, there was a lot he could not fulfil, having accepted to take over the wife his brother left.

2. Disobedience to the constituted authority:

This he publicly confessed to while he writhed in pains, having suffered a very high degree of burns as a result of an explosion while preparing a gas lamp ready for use in what could have been his last crusade in Warri, now the Delta State of Nigeria. According to his historical records, he was so consecrated and full of zeal for the work of the gospel, hence, he has asked the church for funds and assistance for some of his several revival outreaches. This they had refused blatantly as he was seen as not following the guidelines of the church. Orekoya on his own moved forward boldly like a soldier of Christ and went on to push forward for the crusades, which cuts across the core Western parts of the nation and the Benin Republic.
