Reasons kids from a good Christian Homes walk away from their faith

Growing up in a strict Christian home came with alot of experiences that is worth sharing
My mum is the type you can comfortably refer to as IYA IJO
( MOTHER OF CHURCH) lol

Her fervency and commitment in church is second to none and that rubbed on us too ,
We were always in church, frequently engaged in one spiritual activity or the other.
Everyone knows us as church children, our family house is usually like a cathedral, it’s either we are reciting memory verse or my mum is singing, our morning devotion is a service on its own,
The daily memory verse must be recited up to 10 times for my mom before the day runs out. (Chaiii)
We were cultured, trained and soaked in religious activities, mum likes it when we are up and doing in church making scriptural presentations, singing or dancing during service.
Our peers don’t even find us interesting to play with any more cos our entire lives is about church, church and church .
That is to tell you how indeed strict my christian background was.
But you see, we were just doing those things because we were held bend to do them, we were under serious obligation to do them as honor to our parents, there wasn’t any flow from the inside, they were just all activities and what we were waiting for was an opportunity to breakout, we were eager about the day of freedom. The day we will finally be relieved of those duties and be able to express our true selves the way we want to.
And finally the time came that we all went out, some to school, some for work.
You can’t imagine what some of my siblings became, it’s almost like we all went out of faith after leaving home.
Because what we were made to do was just having the form of Godliness but the power of it, was nowhere.

I am thankful that we were able to find God ourselves at last, being religious didn’t help us, grace found us and mercy worked for us..

The mistakes most Christian parents makes is their inability to help their children meet God personally, they tend to impose what they know about God on their children.
They forget or misinterpret easily the scripture that says

TRAIN UP A CHILD THE WAY HE SHOULD GO AND WHEN HE GROW UP HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT. (Prov 22: 6)

The scripture says train up a child the way he should go not the way you want him or her to go.
The way you want the child to go could be religious and selfish but the way God wants him to go is to know him personally so He (GOD) can lead him through.
Reasons why children will leave their faith is because they weren’t even saved at first; they were manipulated .
Salvation is POWER ( Rom 1: 16 )and that is why once a man receives salvation he encounter power
Whether you are a pastor and your kids were born into church, make sure their soul is saved.
The soul of man is corrupted from Adam and until the power of God enters it, it still remains unborn.
Lead them to salvation where they meet God personally, help them encounter power where they start communing with God with or without you. With that, they aren’t going nowhere after.

Secondly They are bored with TRADITIONS.
You show them nothing more than the usual Bible story and the numerous ‘thou shall not’ laws.
You didn’t let them find expression in grace and know what love means, rather they feel gated by the many religious codes and conduct you lay down for them. If you let them find love in God and know how nobody on earth can give same to them, they aren’t leaving to nowhere .

LACK OF PROOF : And signs and wonder shall follow them that believe. (Mark 16:17)
Be a proof producer, if your Christianity lacks proof for years, your children wouldn’t want to continue in that line, you can’t expect them to commit to stagnant emptiness for life.
Some parents has only old Bible and anointing oil to show for their Christianity, they don’t know God to a point of inheriting his blessings, they don’t understand what it means to enjoy God’s benovolence, they believe in poverty to enter heaven and you want your child to forfeit his or her destiny to follow you.
No way!!!

Let them see the goodness of God in your life, show forth fruitfulness in your Christian work then they can boldy say the God of their father is worth serving.

Reason why the lineage of ABRAHAM could not walk away from their faith was because the faith is robust and proof producing, they couldn’t even think of leaving such dynasty

They are always Proud and bold to mention it wherever Whenever

THE GOD OF OUR FATHER ABRAHAM .

So in this very discussion parents need to do their home work and stop forcing belief on children, rather build relationship with God.
Seriously speaking, we are losing children from Christian home by the day, by every academic year as they moved to the university for studies, because of those little mistakes from home.

Every parent needs to build a good foundation for their home not religiously but TRULY on God.
The word of God remains True and standeth sure at all times for it says
“If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do.”

I pray God will lavish us with the grace to keep our children in faith and also help them avoid distractions in Jesus name
