Be Hungry And Desperate For God – Pastor Brian Houston

Are we humble enough to get down before the Lord?”

Brian Houston reminds everyone to always be hungry and desperate for God.

Brian Houston

The senior pastor of Hillsong Church shared the message of Matthew 8: 5-13 and Luke 17: 3-5. The message he shared to everyone is about the humility and desperation of the centurion who came before the Lord for his servant’s healing. Despite having a great authority as the leader of hundreds of men, he still came humbly before the Lord.

“Are we humble enough,” Brian asked. “Are we humble enough to get down before the Lord, to maybe respond to an altar call?”

Hungry and desperate for God

Do we have the same humility and desperation that the centurion had? Or are we so preoccupied with our current positions in our career and ministries that we have forgotten to come humbly before God? Let us always be hungry for God for it is when we are truly passionate for him revival comes.

“The way people who are hungry enough for God to put Him first and just want to be part of the answer and not be afraid because of who we are in the church. Let’s just make sure that we have the same desperation, the same hunger that perhaps we have when we first came to Jesus. When we were hungry, and when we roar and when we were passionate, that’s when revival is in the air.”

Let us all be reminded that our positions, career, status in life, and ministries are all grace from God. It is Him who gave us everything we have right now.

“We only have what we have by the grace of God, we are only who we are by the grace of God.”

“My life is not my own, it has been bought with a price, I’m part of a mission. A cause greater than mine is the cause of King Jesus, it’s the establishing and being a part of His local church.”
