In Nigeria and some other countries, church instrumentalists have developed some sense of entitlement to stipends from the church. They feel that these acquired gift should earn them money like every other skill acquired.
Evangelist Ikechukwu Peter has emphatically stressed that if instrumentalists are paid, other groups like ushers, prayer warriors, protocol officers, etc should be paid.
The choir members should also be paid since everyone feel that God’s blessing is not enough. It would mean that instrumentalists should resist the urge to collect any pay from a church. Their service should be dedicated to God and God alone.
