Reno Omokri has taken to his social media page to give a Bible verse to prove that you are allowed to use your tithe to buy alcohol. He gave the verse in a post captioned “10 Scriptural Facts About Tithes”.
The verse he gave to prove that you can use your tithe to buy alcohol is Deuteronomy 14:24-27. According to the New Living Translation, it says: “Now when the Lord your God blesses you with a good harvest, the place of worship He chooses for His name to be honoured might be too far for you to bring the tithe. If so, you may sell the tithe portion of your crops and herds, put the money in a pouch and go to where God has chosen.
When you arrive, you may use the money to buy anything you want: cattle, goat, wine or other alcoholic drink…”
