Churches should be locked down in order to curbed the spread of Covid-19, yet a Cameroonian medical doctor was healed from Covid-19 for praying and listening to a Nigerian prophet

who is more effective in the fight against Covid-19, the NCDC or the religion leaders? it seems obvious that whatever good thing done by churches does not surface to the notice of influential personalities in the society. Initially, it used to be a combat between religion and science. But as for today it is now a combat between politicians, government officials against religion and clergies. Do you think this is a tussle of power or it is for the interest of the Nigeria people? When HIV aids was predominant during the 1800s, were people stopped from getting involved in sexual relationship? Rather an awareness was built and more research were carried out and also a protective measure was also introduced. No doubt the Corona virus is not as deadly as AIDS. One doctor in Cameroon by the name Kameni Pierrie did a live broadcast telling the world and WHO how he was healed of the virus after prophet T.B Joshua prayed for him, displaying his two results: the positive and the negative. This made the WHO official Dr Michael Ryan (The executive director of health emergency) to cite that religion leaders have a vital role to play in dealing with Covid-19 pandemic, and that their leadership, and pastoral responsibility is needed at a time like this. While Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus(Director General of WHO), added that faith and science should go together.

 We all are aware of the fact on how some of the Nigeria forces were ordered to arrest some pastors, closed down some churches for holding service amidst the virus, despising the directives from the government even when the churches made it compulsory for all worshippers to sanitize and put on nose mask before allowed to come in. the opening of worship centers; mosque or churches does not increase the spread of the virus, and it is not the reason why the number of new cases is rising so fast. The NCDC should be transparent enough to let Nigerians know what exactly is going on. The opening of churches should not stop them from doing their job. Finally, the use of military force against civilian is an indicaton that our interest was never their business.

We were expecting to see more doctors and medical practitioners and not police and army parading every Sunday looking for churches that is having more than two services. I still smell a rat.
