A 20 year old young man who has been identified as Tosin Kolade has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command. The suspect was said to have robbed, raped and killed a 17 year old girl inside a church in Olodo town in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The sad incident happened on Saturday 17th September, 2022, when the victim (Ifeoluwa Apanpa) was on her way to her own church. The suspect confessed when he was being paraded before news reporters at the Oyo State Police Headquarter, Eleyele, Ibadan.
According to the suspect, he had a key to his church and when he saw the his victim (Ifeoluwa) on her way to her own church, he convinced her to help him arrange the chairs in his church.
He knew when she was going to pass, so waited for her.
After the suspect had lured his victim inside the church he brought our a knife to threaten her and steal her phone, but she resisted him. While they were fighting she fell and hit her head on the floor.
That was when the suspect raped her. After he defiled her, he asked for her phone password, but she told him a wrong password, which made him angry and he strangled her.
The body of the victim was later found near a bible school after an anonymous caller told her parents that she was kidnapped.
The police were able arrest a suspect, Tosin Kolade and he confessed to killing Ifeoluwa. The police also said that the case is still under investigation and more details will be released.
