“I am amazed that we are adding staff upon staff in the midst of lockdown” – Bishop David Oyedepo

In this lockdown where virtually everything is at a standstill, the Bishop gave a shocking story of increasing the work force in his church. 

Before I go further, I want to do a background analysis that will help you in your voyage through this article. In the early part of this year, the bishop announced the planting of 10,000 new Churches. One would think that this lockdown will hinder such agenda, but reverse has been the case. As at 2nd of August, the clergy stated explicitly that he has planted a total of 3,000 new Churches in Nigeria. More so, a total of 26 new Churches in Sierra Leone while 209 were planted in Nigeria on the 2nd of August.

Still In his sermon today in their early morning prayer which is tag: “covenant hour of prayer”, he stated categorically that he is surprised that the number of staff in the church database is increasing by the day. This is truly amazing in this era of global lockdown. 

To clear doubts of how they will be paid, the bishop gave a testimony that the church has never prayed for provisions to pay the staff since inception. This means the modalities on their payment is not an issue if concern.

Furthermore, he said that plans are already on ground for another set of 4,000 new Churches. This simply means that the staff base of the church will still experience an upward review.

This is remarkably unbelievable! At this time when workers are not paid by most private firms, yet one man is employing new staff. This must be God at work. For those who are criticizing the church, I hope this makes some sense.
