Pastor EA Adeboye the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, has come out plain and blunt about the not-so-complete natural life of human beings, that he also cannot deny being overpowered by it which; which some spiritual people do pretend not to have or feign. In his words, the cleric has revealed that he is also human, I don’t know about other general overseers but I am a man, and I have fallen asleep in my prayer room before.
According to the cleric, he has shared an instance of when he had to obey the nature call during one of the convention programmes when he was expected to be up and praying. In his words, the cleric has shared that, during the said period, there was a convention going on and then particularly on the most important day of the convention, on Friday, it rained and one of his children challenged me and said Daddy it rained, the cleric replied and said yes it did, the child replied that he was supposed to be in the prayer room praying, in his words, I said yes, I was there, how did it rain? I said I fell asleep, he said: You! How can you fall asleep? In truth, people expected him to be all strong and consecrated in prayers all the time. In this, the cleric revealed that General Overseers also need prayers. They cannot be always up and praying. They too also must be assisted.
