I Wept bitterly When My Friends Accused Me Of this – Rev Dr. Uma Ukpai

Rev Dr. Uma Ukpai the founder and president of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, spoke about the power of Spoken Word and told a story of how he was accused of killing a man he didn’t touch.

He said that he was in a pastor’s conference in Owerri in 1992, and they gave scholarships to pastors. He hired all the rooms in Concorde hotel, there are 220 rooms, and he gave them to pastors and prayer partners around the world. According to him, a young man came to him and told him that he was a pastor and he would want a room to himself. The man of God immediately declined to claim that people told him that he is not a pastor. He then replied, “If I am not a pastor, let God judge me.”

Speaking further, he revealed that the man immediately fell to the ground and died. Workers at Concorde hotel walk up to him and held him responsible for the death but he immediately shut them up claiming that he didn’t touch the man. He said that Grace of God leaders came to me and also condemned him for killing the man and he immediately told them the same thing he told the workers.

He then explained that his friends from America who came to be part of the program, asked him, “Uma, what did you do?” It was then he said to God, “if my friends could give me this verdict, what will my enemy say?” He said that life is made in a way. Every one of us has an enemy; some people hate you with passion while some others see nothing good in you.

Finally, he revealed that he wept, hot blood rush down, his heart fell into his stomach and God said, “Don’t panic, call his name seven times and I will put back his life.” He called his name seven times and the young man came back to life. There is power in the spoken word.
