As followers of Christ, we should turn our eyes from worldly things to the things of God. The more we focus on God, the more we become acquainted with the awesome nature of God, and the more we trust His plans for us.
Dr D.K Olukoya, the General Overseer Of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry, said we should focus on things pertaining to God’s kingdom, and depend solely on Jesus Christ, because He is the only one that has answers to questions of life.
When our attention is on God and not on worldly things, we can know what God has planned for us and how we can accomplish His purpose on earth (Jeremiah 29:11). Focusing on God will also cause us to want to know God more, and when we do this, we get to see how the Kingdom of God works and how we can fit in (Philippians 3:10).
The knowledge of the Kingdom of God helps us to become fruitful children of God (John 15:4-6). Also, Focusing on God brings joy (Psalms 34:5). It drives away fear (2Timothy 1:7). It provides safety (Psalms 91:1-4). Finally, when we first of all focus on God and His kingdom, He will meet our needs (Matthew 6:33, Philippians 4:19).
