The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye has warned that not every testimony should be shared in public.
He gave this warning in the 1st July, 2020 sermon in the Open Heavens devotional manual which he authored by divine inspiration.
“Many times, in a bid to boast, we let out our secret to the enemy. Not every testimony should be shared in the public, especially when it is not yet complete “, he advised.
He said many people have been brought down by the enemy as a result of carelessness in the use of the words of their mouth. He said the tongue is a very powerful organ which can either make or mar a person.
“Do you know that your tongue can either deliver you from your enemies or cause you to be entrapped by them?”, he queried.
In the sermon titled, “Watch Your Words At All Times”, Pastor Adeboye said the devil has a special way of finding out about a person in order to bring such person down. What the devil usually do in such circumstances is to ask questions about the fellow so that his/her secrets can be revealed to him.
“When the devil want to find out a person’s secret in order to bring him down, he begins to ask questions so that the fellow can share his secret with him.”
Daddy G.O, as he is addressed, admonished us not to give the devil any chance in our lives with our utterances in whatever mood we find ourselves. He said we should be careful with what we say and the promises we make when we are happy.
“When you are happy also, be careful what promises you make, what testimonies you share- bridle your tongue”, he concluded.
As a way out of the trap of the devil , Daddy Adeboye advised we ask God for wisdom to know what to say and what not to say at all times.
