Partial Obedience To God, Is disobedience – Pastor David Ibiyeomie

You only enjoy the blessings of obedience when you fully obey God. In 1Samuel 15:3-15, God instructed King Saul, through Prophet Samuel, to go and utterly destroy Amalekites (both human and animal). King Saul partially obeyed God by going there and destroying some while sparing some with the intention of sacrificing them to God. In reply to his actions, Prophet Samuel told him that to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. As a result, God rejected Saul as king over Israel.

You partially obey God when you act before seeking His will. You partially obey God when you hear what you want to hear, and not what God says. You partially obey God when you are not submissive to the word of God. You partially obey God when you mix the worship of God with cultures and tradition. You partially obey God when you seek God only in time of need.

Not obeying God is as bad as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as bad as worshipping idols (1Samuel 15:23). Do not fall into the temptation of partial obedience. Obey God no matter how inconvenience it might be, and you will experience his abundant blessings.
