Commitment to God’s work is a choice, but it always comes with spiritual and physical blessings. Aside from the blessings, it also comes with sacrifices and challenges which some people may not be comfortable with.
While Pastor Adeboye discussed The Price of Commitment, he shared a story about how a brother claimed to be committed to God, and he decided to test him because he felt the man was just trying to impress him.
This man owns a car and to test his commitment claims, Pastor Adeboye asked that the church would need his car the following week for outreach to win souls. The man protested, saying he would need his car to go to work and this was how he failed the test. The church did not need his car in the first place, as the vehicles for the outreach were available.
Commitment to God’s work can be costly, but it shows we love God, and we are ready to follow his instructions, no matter how inconvenient it may be. Commitment also comes with its rewards because God always blesses those who are committed to him.
