Bishop Irabor wisdom, the Presiding Bishop of Answers Assembly sends an important message to pastors on why they should not mismanage the father who can serve them for free for the one who must serve them for a fee.
He said that one of his sons pleaded with him that he wants to host a particular friend of his and told him to help him talk to the Pastor since he doesn’t have access to him. He told him that this Pastor is not him and that he normally gives 100,000 whenever he comes to bless their congregation. He then told him that he does not think he will accept anything less than 500,000, because of his level. That is why you see him only in big churches. “I will advise, you to leave it for now because it will stress your innocent work.”
He then said that to his greatest surprise, his son said he will pay, that he needs the grace of that his friend. He wants him to step on his altar. So he called the man of God and did the introduction and they both agreed and fixed a date. The pastor said he will collect N500,000 and not too long after fixing the date, he was told to send two business class tickets for the Pastor and his wife. And a reservation in a five-star hotel.
He said that when his son checked the money involved, he called him that he should help him plead with his friend to come along with an economy ticket since he has accepted to give N500,000 as the honorarium which the guest Speaker is also aware of it.
He then said to him, “that is the standard of that man, I told you he doesn’t shift it for anyone.” Out of frustration, his spiritual son cancelled the meeting and then told him (Bishop Irabor) to come and handle the meeting for him.
He said that he quickly borrowed the nature he does not have from those who have it, for the first time, he saw himself telling him, “My P. A will reach you on my behalf.” After a few days he called, he did not pick up, and he sent a text to say, “sir your P. A has not reached me yet.” He replied to him, “I don’t have a leading to come out for now. God wants me to be indoors for now. When I have the leading, he will reach you on my behalf.”
“That was how a very sweet relationship died a natural death,” he said and revealed that nobody should blame that Pastor who insists on business class for himself and his wife. In this work, if you don’t have standards, they will use you as their sanders. Without a standard, you can’t stand out.
