In his response to Tinubu’s statement that the Labour Party will work until death, Peter Obi said the party will.
Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has finally responded to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, after he stated opposition parties, including the Labour Party and other seemingly little parties, will work till they die.
Recall that Bola Tinubu criticized the opposition parties yesterday during the APC’s campaign for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, the party’s Governorship candidate for Osun State Governorship election.
Despite the controversy, Peter Obi has been silent since Tinubu made the following remark. However, the former governor of Anambra State has finally responded to the widely condemned statement.
While campaigning for Honourable Lasun Yusuf, the Labour Party’s Governorship candidate for the Osun State Governorship election on Saturday, July 16, 2022, Peter Obi emphasized the importance of the good people of Osun State voting wisely.
He told the gathering that if they think people who have kept Nigeria in darkness are better, they should remember that they are the ones who will suffer from the hardships they will bring if they are re-elected.
He told them that certain bad leaders had stolen their future and that they wanted to reclaim it for them.
Peter Obi commented on Tinubu’s statement, saying that he heard someone (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) say that the Labour Party will work until death. He stated that when they speak in such a hateful manner, the Labour Party will show them love.
He stated that there is dignity in labor since the country cannot transition from a consumption to a production economy without labor, and that everybody who has worked will be rewarded.
He also advised them to disregard any politician who attempts to buy their votes. He warned them that if they sold their votes, the next four years would be disastrous. But, even if they want to collect their money, they must remember to vote with their conscience because the money they are handing over is their money, which they have stolen.
