A former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan and preacher, Reno Omokri, has explained the reason why many people don’t progress in life. He opined that people fail to make progress in life due to pride and ego; they either feel entitled to have a particular thing or they cannot settle for anything below their set standard.
Using the ‘bird’ situation, the former presidential aide explains how people fail to achieve success in life. While expressing his thoughts on social media he said that birds like peacocks and ostriches cannot fly because of their weight. Birds who can sustain flight must be light. He describe the human situation is akin to the statements above, explaining that ego and pride are excess weight people need to discard, in other to succeed.
The human rights activist conveyed his thoughts in a message on twitter, and his tweet reads; “The heaviest birds can’t fly. Whether ostriches, or peacocks, they are always aground. To sustain flight, birds must be light. The reason you don’t progress is because you are full of pride and take yourself too seriously. Discharge your ego and you will rise!”
