In The First 3 Years Of Our Church, We Were Not Taking Any Offering – Bishop David Oyedepo.

Bishop David Oyedepo has shared a perspective on the practice of taking offerings in Faith Tabernacle. He responded to someone questioning why the church doesn’t just take one offering, emphasizing that in the early years, the church operated without offerings and remained financially sustained. The message encourages a mindset of gratitude, suggesting that being thankful is like being “tank full” – maintaining a state of abundance.

In his words, “I had somebody say; ‘Why will they not just take one offering in Faith Tabernacle? It is a very large church, one offering is enough.’ When we were 5, 10, 12, we were taking one offering. In fact, the first three years we were not taking any offerings in our services yet we were not dry. Just know what it is. To be thankful is to be tank full.”

Furthermore, Bishop Oyedepo elaborated on the importance of gratitude. He asserted that expressing thankfulness ensures a continuous flow of blessings, using metaphors like water tanks and pipes to convey the idea of abundance. The message urges people to be thankful to preserve existing blessings and to attract even greater blessings in the future. Bishop Oyedepo also contended that neglecting gratitude could lead to a spiritual dryness in one’s destiny.

He added, “If you are thankful, your tanks will ever be full. Your water tanks will ever be full, your pipes will never run dry if you will be thankful. Be thankful! Be thankful to preserve His blessings in your life. Be thankful to provoke next level blessings in your life. Destiny will suffer dryness without thankfulness. Therefore, receive grace today to remain ever thankful.”
