Sunrise
Episode 1
Tope Akande, a successful writer had just concluded her 8th book launch. She had been writing since she was 17. She even studied Literature and English studies in school to sharpen her skills.
It was past 3:00Pm and she was supposed to have a meet and greet with her old friends who wanted to celebrate with her.
‘Tope I’m going home now, I need to cook for my husband’ , Mrs Akande said hugging her daughter.
‘Okay ma,
Thank you mummy for being here’ she replied.
‘Your Dad is in the car waiting for me’ her mum said.
‘Tell daddy I love him’ Tope said with a sheepish grin.
The clock was ticking her guests where still hanging around. Some fans where trying to get a picture with her. Poor Tope was exhausted but she took pictures with her fans anyways. Her fans where like family. They were one of the reasons she wrote in the first place.
Tope, through her books had inspired the lives of many young adults. She was like a potter that shaped clay. With her books, she had received tons of testimonies of how lives were transformed by just reading her books.
After a long break to get fresh inspiration from God she launched another book, ‘The Refined’. People couldn’t just wait to read it. The event was full of eager youths in attendance.
Tope stood close to her red Toyota Camry smiling and waving at the excited youths as they walked towards the gate. She felt relevant and successful.
‘Tope! Tope!’, Beatrice called out.
Tope didn’t respond she was looking back at the hall now,
with a surprised look on her face.
Beatrice turned to look as well
‘What is he doing here?’, Beatrice exclaimed.
