A man was seen in a video running onto Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel and grabbing his legs violently. His actions are stated here as one of the reasons why men of God need bodyguards.

The importance of bodyguards and private security by pastors was seen during the Winners Chapel incident, as a young man rushed and grabbed Bishop Oyedepo, almost wrestling him down.
But for the intervention of the bodyguards who were present, the matter could have degenerated or resulted in an embarrassing situation for the Bishop.

Hence, the situation is an indication that pastors are right and should even be encouraged to employ the services of private security.
This is so that their safety can be ensured in situations just like the one that recently involved the General Overseer of Living Faith Church.
Without security for men of God, people with different intentions will have access to them, causing them embarrassment, and jeopardizing their safety.

Accordingly, security should be made available for pastors to, amongst other reasons, detect, prevent, and intercept intruders such as the man who grabbed Bishop Oyedepo’s leg while he was preaching.
