This Generation Has A Problem – Bishop David Oyedepo Reveals Why

THIS GENERATION HAS A PROBLEM.
THERE IS SO MUCH BOOK KNOWLEDGE THAT PEOPLE ATTRIBUTE THE LIGHT THEY ACCESS AS A FUNCTION OF THEIR INTELLIGENCE, SO THEY CRASH.

WE GIVE THANKS TO GOD AT THE END OF EVERY MONTH, BECAUSE EVERY MONTH DELIVERS SOMETHING NEW IN OUR LIVES.

A THANKLESS CONGREGATION WILL NEVER SEE GROWTH. MURMURING PASTORS CANNOT LEAD CHURCH GROWTH.

WE NEVER PRAYED FOR AIRCRAFT IN THIS MINISTRY, TALK LESS OF CONFESS:
IF HE GIVES YOU AN AIRCRAFT AND YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO RUN IT, WHAT HAPPENS? YOU WILL JUST BE FRUSTRATED FOREVER.

WE DIDN’T ATTEMPT TO BUILD A 50,000 AUDITORIUM WHEN WE WERE 3,000. YOU WILL JUST FAST YOURSELF TO DEATH, BECAUSE YOU HAVE JUMPED THE QUEUE.

-Bishop David Oyedepo at 1st Service, Faith Tabernacle
Sixth Pre-Shiloh Encounter Service

Let’s look in summary at what thanksgiving offers and I pray that will help us to plug into it as a lifestyle for life, as a lifestyle all the days of our lives.

  1. Thanksgiving among others preserves, perfects and multiplies our blessings.
These are all just reminder points.
    Thanksgiving preserves – Malachi 2:1-3
“Lay it to heart”: It is a matter of the heart. Not just saying, “I am praising.” He looks to the heart to determine what He delivers into our hands – Jeremiah 17:10
How genuinely thankful are you? And if you are, expect God’s blessings on your life to be preserved, to be irreversible by any agent of the wicked one. Jesus gave thanks, the bread multiplied supernaturally – John 6:11
    -Expect multiplication
The one leper returned and his healing was perfected. He was made whole: that connotes perfection – Luke 17:19
    Malachi 2:1-3; John 6:6-12; Luke 17:17-19
Thanksgiving preserves multiplies and perfect God’s blessings in our lives.
  2. Thanksgiving is a spiritual channel for the realization of a glorious destiny
Every child of God has a glorious destiny in Christ and thanksgiving is a covenant facilitator of our glorious destiny.
    Romans 8:29-30
Every child of God is called and justified, to be glorified. You and I have a glorious destiny in Christ. That would be challenged, but there is a way out of it.
    Habakkuk 3:17-19
“I have done my best. My husband and I have gone through all kinds of medical efforts”: But I will rejoice and be glad in Him. She said, “the Lord instructed her at Shiloh, she received instructions and went ahead to engage with the instructions.”
-May this Shiloh be a mountain of voices to you, where you will receive very clear, personal instructions that will lead the way out of those challenges around your life and permanently so.
She began rejoicing and God said, “here I am. Enough of the struggles.”

To be more than a conqueror means to live a struggle free life.
-There shall be a baptism of a struggle free life for everyone at Shiloh 2021.
Thanksgiving is the way out of impossible situations in our lives.

  1. Thanksgiving facilitates access to revelation – Psalm 100:4, Psalm 16:11
I can only access the path of life in His presence and it takes thanksgiving to be allowed entrance.
    Psalm 118:27
We must gain access to His presence, to access revelation from the Word. That is what it is and most of the times, thanksgiving is a covenant, non-negotiable requirement. Joy and rejoicing to access His presence.
-You will never lack access anymore to His presence.
That is where it comes from. Church Gist. We don’t access revelation by intellectual capacity. Some fellows thought that Paul was so deep, because he was a lawyer: zero
    1 Corinthians 4:4
“For I know nothing by myself…” – That means his natural acumen had no bearing… This generation has a problem because there is so much book knowledge that people attribute the light that they acquire or the light that they access as a function of their intelligence. So they crash.
Let no great man or mighty man glory in his might – Jeremiah 9:23-24
“I am the One who shows light, you can’t get light by your efforts”
    Galatians 1:11-12
It is not about our intellectual prowess that you now have revelation. I was in a meeting with my co-labourers in 1983, we were in prayers, we were all on the mat, we were there for 3 or 4 days.
Then the Lord said, “my son, you have 2 eyes.” I was in Psalm chapter 34 verse 5. That’s not Mathematics.
    Psalm 34:5
“Can you make one to look up and one to look down”: Now, I had been carrying my two eyes up and down, I had never tried it. So I tried it, it didn’t work.
“Anytime you are looking up to man, never claim to be looking up to me. But if you fix your eyes on me, you will never be ashamed.” What a light – September 6th, 1983
My eyes went off all men including myself.
  2. Thanksgiving empowers our financial seeds for supernatural returns
    Joel 1:12, Psalm 67:5-7
Let no man give of necessity, God is not in need. If you are not rejoicing, keep your seed. It is out of His abundance, you are giving.
There are many seed sowers that never experience returns, because at every opportunity to sow a seed, “I did it before, I am doing again.”
To extend help to someone in need, he keeps regretting, “why did I do that?”
    It never works.
    Deuteronomy 26:1-10
”And thou shalt set it before the Lord thy God and worship” – Deuteronomy 26:10
    Not complain – “…and worship”
It takes a worshipper, in truth and in deed to experience genuine returns from our seeds sown.
That is what makes it work.
  3. Thanksgiving empowers our stewardship to be profitable.
Serving God is not enough, but serving God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, which actually implies with thankfulness.
1977, the Lord gave me this gift from Deuteronomy chapter 28 verses 47 and 48
    Deuteronomy 28:47-48
I thought I had read that book before and I did, but I couldn’t find it. Nobody can see what God does not show – Deuteronomy 29:29
I have been reading for sometimes, I had never seen it.
You sleep every night, wake up in the morning: you think you woke up yourself
You get out of town, when you are out of town, to work and you return back in the evening.
Your children went to school and they came back.
And yet you say, “Well, I don’t know what has happened. The year has been one challenging year for me. Every year of my life is challenged.”
If it is so, you won’t be talking, because your voice is not challenged: the voice you are using now.
The brain you are using now, to access God’s performance is still working.
    Deuteronomy 28:47-48
Serving God without being thankful is a risk.
  4. It’s wasteful.
  5. It’s destructive
Don’t come to the Service (illustrates grumbling motions), “you can’t talk to me like that.” Nobody forced you to register there.
Don’t come as a leader to Church and say, “If not that I ehhnn. No, I won’t be coming every day like that. If not because I am leader of the team.”
They say: let’s pray. “Yes. Ahhh, this prayer is long.”
This is so important. That my daughter said, “God gave her specific instructions and after Shiloh she went to engage with the instructions.”
    These are all instructions.
Thankfulness is the key of your emptiness. Thankfulness is the cure for your dryness. Thankfulness is the way out of every challenge of life.
“In everything, give thanks” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
    You got the key
    Hebrew 10:36
  6. Thanksgiving empowers or engenders breakthroughs in all areas of our lives
    Isaiah 54:1-3
“Sing O barren” – You want to be out of it, get into singing.
Psalm 92:1 – Sing O barren. That means, be thankful and then break forth into singing. Then you see God’s hand upon your life that will put your enemies to shame.
-You will see breakthroughs on every side.
What Jesus had at the tomb of Lazarus was a new level of breakthrough. Well He had called Jairus’s daughter back to life, but she wasn’t in the grave, not even for one moment. He had touched the widow of Nain before they went to the graveyard, he was raised back to life.
But the first time He had to call the dead, after 4 days, out of the grave was at the instance of thanksgiving. So thanksgiving is a mystery behind breakthroughs.
You want to go to the next level? Give Him thanks, then He takes you up to the next level.
  7. Finally, thanksgiving is a vital mystery behind sustainable Church growth
    Acts 2:47
Thankless congregation will never see growth. Church Gist. Murmuring congregation never sees growth. Murmuring Pastors cannot lead Church growth. Complain-full Pastors cannot lead Church growth.
Jeremiah 30:19 – That does not only apply to Church. We have said it, if you want to breakthrough in any area of your life, subscribe to a lifestyle of thanksgiving, that breaks forth into singing and then breakthrough unlimited becomes your experience.
But for Church growth, keep thanking God. It is the way forward, it is the way to move from one level to another.
My wife is here: we never sat down once to say, “what is happening to Church?” No. He, the Builder is at work. You may not see that.
I saw, “He is the Builder.” You see one person, He brought them. If you don’t thank Him, He won’t bring another one. And the one He brought, He can direct them to go somewhere else.
I said, “God went to town and went somebody to this corner, let’s praise Him. Let’s give Him thanks.” That is how to grow.
-Nothing dies in the hand of anyone here anymore.
