What Young Pastors Should Learn As Pastor Adeboye Reveals Why He Didn’t Start His Own Ministry

In a recent post, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God revealed the reason why he didn’t start his church ministry and how he was able to overcome the temptation of doing so.

According to the Man of God, he had chances and opportunities to start or establish a church ministry of his own far back in 1977 but when he asked God for directions, he revealed that God instructed him to stay at the Church of God that was founded by Late Pastor Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi and that eventually paid off today.

Regarding this, we have decided to share and present to our readers and young Pastors some lessons that they should learn from the experience of Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

1. Obedience Is better than Sacrifice

The book of 1st Samuel 15:22 stated that “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

It was the obedience of Pastor Enoch Adeboye to what the Lord told him that actually paved the way for him. As at that time, he might have chosen not to listen since he already has followers but he didn’t do that, instead he listened and he is enjoying that today. This is indeed a great lesson to all young Pastors and those looking to establish their own church ministry that obedience to the things of the spirit is important and key to the growth of a church.

2. Always seek for direction from God

Another lesson that young pastors and those hoping to establish a church ministry should learn from the story of Pastor Adeboye is to always seek God’s direction before taking action. Had it been, Pastor Adeboye didn’t seek God’s direction, it might have turned out to be another case but with God, a good result is assured.

3. Loyalty Matters a lot

The loyalty and respect that Pastor Enoch Adeboye had for Pastor Josiah Akindayomi helped him to become the General overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God. Despite being this popular, Pastor Adeboye didn’t establish his ministry and that shows how loyal he was and has been to the founder of RCCG.
