Psalm 147:1
There are three major things said about praise in our text
1] Praise is good
2] Praise is pleasant
3] Praise is (comely) beautiful.
Praising God is a form of trade by barter, when you are praising God, you are trading with God and He will respond.
God made all things for His pleasure, Revelation 4:9-1. He made birds to sing in Songs of Solomon 2:12. He made mountains and hills to sing in Isaiah 55:12 and made the trees to clap. He made the floods clap in Psalm 98:8. Psalm 47:1 says clap your hands all ye people. He expects all of us to clap. James 4:8 says if you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. John 4:23-24, He is seeking for those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth.
How do you find this trade by barter?
- Praise is good: if you give God praise, He will make sure goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life, Psalm 23:6.
- Praise is pleasant: Psalm 135:3, Psalm 36:7-9, when you give Him praise, He will make sure you drink from His fountain of life. Praise is pleasant, it gives God pleasure and when you praise Him, He will make sure you drink from the fountain of life.
- Praise is beautiful: If you give Him something beautiful, He will give you beauty for ashes, Isaiah 61:3, He will give you the oil of joy instead of mourning; He will give you the garment of praise. Psalm 90:17, He said if you praise Him, He will establish the work of your hands. If you praise God, He will make sure your works never collapse. When God establishes, it is established.
You praise Him? Psalm 149:4; In return He will beautify you with salvation. Salvation is beautiful. I know what life was before we found salvation. What we used to call life then, suddenly we saw that we were wallowing in what is ugly.
If you praise Him today, He will beautify you with His salvation! The Almighty God is willing to give you a garment of salvation today, if you have not accepted Him, bow your heads and accept Him and He will come into your life.
Praise Him!
