“When I Was In England, Nobody Was Bringing Books To Nigeria” – Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo Reveals How He Became The Largest Distributor Of Christian Books In Nigeria

The popular Nigerian clergyman and the senior pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre in London, Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo has shared how he became the largest distributor of Christian books in Nigeria.

According to Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo, one of the traits of successful people is the ability to see and maximized opportunities. He said he made his first million at the age of 27. He said he travelled to Europe to purchased musical instruments and put it at the shop of the late Ebenezer Obey and sold it.

He implored the youth that there is no shortcut to becoming rich and successful, and they should rather used their negative experiences to motivate themselves to become better rather. He said he once hawked bread in Lagos but he never allowed such experience to deterred him in becoming a successful businessman.

He shared the story on how he maximized the opportunity to become the largest distributor of Christian books in Nigeria. “When I was in England, nobody was bringing Christian books to Nigeria, because during the government of Abacha foreign exchange was regarded as illegal. You can’t bring in foreign books, but fortunately for me I lived in Europe. So, all my income and salary I invested it and I began to bring Christian books and I became the largest distributor of Christian books in Nigeria, representing thirty publishing companies. I was Nigeria representative for Kenneth Hagin and other top publishing companies in Europe,” Pastor Mathew said.
