Why Apostle Ayo Babalola Ran Away From a Revival Ground.
Written by Aduralere Oluwagbohunmi
On February 25th 1932, while Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the First General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic church was praying privately on a mountain at Odo Owa, Satan and his hosts came down to wage war against him.
Witches and demonic persons first came to torment him in a vision but he defeated them in the name of Jesus.
After this encounter, the vegetation rose against him and he defeated them by the blood of Jesus Christ
It was as if this is not enough for a single day, all demonic spirits underground and in the heavenly places confronted him but he overcame them by the blood and the name of Jesus.
It was a day Apostle Babalola defeated Satan and his hosts.
You can read many of those instances where and how he deafeted Satan and his hosts in my book, Testimony of Grace.
However on this faithful day, in 1929 few months before the great Oke Ooye Revival that announced him to the world, Babalola ran away from the revival ground.
What could make a man that was heavenly anointed ran away from the revival ground?
Why should a man that defeated Satan and his hosts ran away from the stage?
Was it fear of Satan? Was it fear of witches? How can a man that loved to chose evil forests as revival ground ran away from men?
Here is the reason why he ran away. He ran away from people because he didn’t want to share in the glory that belongs to God. In his word;
“The Holy Spirit led me to a town called Erin. After I have delivered my message in this town, the king of the town told me that he was in great sorrow concerning his son who had left home for 15 years and has not returned.
Eventhough he had serched everywhere, he was yet to find his whereabouts.
In response, I told the king he will find the child. For this reason, I went into prayer and as I was about to pray the Lord spoke to me to go and tell the king that his child would return after five days.
When I delivered the message to the king, he didn’t believe me. He laughed at the prophecy.
But on the fifth day as I was preaching in front of the king’s palace, the king himself was present at my meeting. A big vehicle with a lot of load entered the palace and parked in front of the palace.
To his amazement, the king’s son has returned. The king almost ran mad for joy.
They tried to carry me on their heads but I ran away from them because I knew they wanted to turn me to a god.
That is Babalola for you. He would not run away from the devil but he knew ” how not to take the glory of God. He knew how not to share in God’s glory”.
There is a realm in the spirit that you cannot ever attain if you are not dead to self and fame. Babalola was dead to self and fame unlike many of us today.
However, if you want to sustain power and enjoy greater level of anointing, learn to avoid praises from men. Nothing drains your anointing like praises of men.
(You can read my books: Acts of Power: 15 Secrets of Apostle Ayo Babalola and Testimony of Grace).
These books are loaded with revelations on how you can receive and maintain the Power of Holy Ghost.
I pray for you, just like the king received what he had lost through prophecy, receive all the goodness and blessing that you have lost to bad dreams and curses in Jesus name.
